Description: A grey cotton skirt from Comme des Garçons' celebrated Spring/Summer 2004 collection, 'Abstract Excellence', by Rei Kawakubo. The collection comprised thirty-four skirts conceived, in Kawakubo's words, 'from shapeless, abstract, intangible forms, not taking into account the body' — an exploration of seriality and repetition that is now considered one of her most important conceptual statements, with examples held in major museum collections.
